What does P/L mean on Polymarket?
Profit and loss: what a trader made or lost, realised or on paper.
Definition
P/L, or profit and loss, is how much a trader has made or lost. Realised P/L is locked in from closed positions; unrealised P/L is what open positions are worth at today’s price.
In more detail
Unrealised P/L moves with the price until the position is sold or the market resolves. A big paper profit can disappear before then.
P/L on its own says little about skill. It grows with the size of the bets, so it is worth reading next to win rate and return.
Example
A trader buys Yes at 40¢ for $4,000. The price rises to 55¢: that is $1,500 unrealised P/L. If they sell there, it becomes $1,500 realised.
