Definition

An outcome is one of the answers a market can settle on. Most Polymarket markets have two, Yes and No, and you trade shares in one of them.

In more detail

Some markets name their outcomes instead, such as two teams in a match. They still work the same way: one side pays $1 a share and the other pays nothing.

When a market resolves, the winning outcome’s shares pay out and the market closes.
